TO DO

Production Roles Analysis
Why is it important to share a disciplined approach to performance work?
It is vital to remain focused as there are milestones of time that are needed to be maintained in order for the process to run smoothly. Time management is very important in any process, including theatre. It also makes for good cast morale as everyone is on the same age and content and no-one feels more responsible than an other, as this can lead to disagreements and an unhappy rehearsal environment. It is also vitally important that production teams wok hard with performers as when all the pieces are tied together, it is an entire team effort. For example; It is important that I spoke to the cast members whose props I was dealing with as I wanted to make sure that they were happy with decisions I was making. Based on this, I had a conversation with Megan and Ben about the Radio I was going to create to ask them how they imagined it to be and what they were comfortable with, and we managed to come up with and idea that worked for all three of us. I then created the Radio and, hopefully, it was something that we were all very happy with.

What do you think are your main challenges?
A main challenge of mine is going to be maintaining focus and not losing motivation. I think that I have, in the past, found myself lacking some motivation and fallen into low morale, but it is important for me, and with respect for my own cast, if I maintain focused and manage my time right, everything should run smoothly. I think my main challenges are going to be the final stages of the prop process. Making sure that I have everything and that is needed for the show, so that there are not empty spaces and mimed props because something has been forgotten. I also think that I may struggle with making sure that I have enough time for every last part of the prop making process as I know that we are on a tight schedule and I have other responsibilities to the show as well.

Why were you interested in the production role you have selected?
I am very interested in the production role I have chosen as I have never had such a large responsibility to a show before. I have also always been very interested in creating props but have never had the opportunity to do so, so am glad of the role I have accepted. I am also looking forward to working alongside the other production roles and seeing the end result of all our hard work pulled together.

What would you like to achieve in this production?
I would like to
